What Can I Expect From Recovery?

First 24 hours

Patients are carefully monitored before being released into the care of a friend, family member, or another responsible adult who will drive them home and assist with basic tasks for the first 24 hours. Make sure that the upper body is well-supported and elevated with pillows. Dr. Kinal will provide pain medications, which should be kept within reach, along with ice packs to help diminish any discomfort.

First few weeks

Swelling, bruising, and soreness in the breasts will peak over the first 1-3 days, after which these side effects will gradually diminish. The implants will settle into their new position within several weeks. Most patients can return to work within around 7 days, provided that their jobs are sedentary.

Six weeks
